Sued Crest Financial and won- Don't be their victim

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Bought $1900 mattress and financed w Crest. First 2 months they took their $268 payment out with no problem, then the 90 days was approaching so guess what... suddenly the account number I gave for my bank acct is invalid and they can't take that last auto draft out! Meanwhile I had been making bulk payments to avoid their 86% interest on the 91 day. I call to get final payoff and was told they cannot stop the auto draft so pay what is owed as balance minus the $268 payment. This is what I did, their draft didn't come out. They accused me of closing my bank acct 5 months later when they finally call me to alert me the draft didn't go thru. They were saying I owed THEM $1800, took them to court thru my local Magistrate and they didn't show for hearing so I won the amt they said I owe plus court fees. Don't take their ***, it was worth the $117 I spent on fees. Just trying to clean up my credit report now

Avoid doing business with Crest.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I agreed to financing (disguised as a lease) with Crest. They were true to agreement and I never missed a payment up to the point where I tried to pay off the loan (disguised as a lease). The early pay off amount indicated in the online account interface was quite different than the amount the human rep was intitially disposed to configure for the payoff. Correcting the discrepancy required escalating to a supervisor. Result of these communications being that the payoff transfer was scheduled and the regular payment withdrawals discontinued. The actual outcome however was that the payoff was never initiated by Crest and the regular payments WERE discontinued. This caused the account to become delinquent and accrue fees. In a the next series of calls I once again had to expend time discussing with a supervisor to again configure the payoff, and this time remove late fees (which they did). It turned out that again the payoff was not initiated by Crest and I again had to expend time remedying their incompetence. The end result was that paying the loan (disguised as a lease) off occurred nearly two months later than what I had initiated it for and resulted in lost time more, than $100 in additional costs due to the cost of financing (disguised as leasing) difference related to the time lapse from when for I had first ordered payoff and when it was actually executed as well as a fair amount of aggravation. End of story is that this entity is either predatory or incompetent or more likely a combination of both. DO AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM. They are poor partners. Godspeed!!

Predatory leanders who will not allow the consumer to manage payment

I bought a new bed from a furniture store and the financing was through Crest. I was called by Crest before I even left the parking lot. I was told that they would take bi-weekly payments directly from my bank account. I did not want that so I had them arrange payment on my credit card. I thought everything was handled and disconnected the call. Keep in mind, my new bed hadn't even been delivered yet and they already had their hand out. A week after my bed was delivered, they billed my checking account after I was told that they would bill my credit card. I called and complained and got the runaround. Again, I thought I had it handled and low and behold, 2 weeks later, billed my checking account for twice the payment amount. I called and complained again. They refused to do anything at all. I got angry and paid them off in full on another credit card. This company should be avoided at all costs.

I read the fine print. I had no idea that I was going to be charged a fee for leasing.

I have excellent credit and I advised the appliance store that I wanted the 90 days same as cash plan. I could have put the purchase on a credit card. The fee for using Crest is $70 plus the purchase amount.

I have had the appliance for almost a month and in 2 more payments, I will owe nothing. Beware that if you don't pay the purchase off in 3 months it will cost you 3 times the original amount.

Same here, i was hung up on when i ask for a explanation of their billing process.. i think to be safe everyone should pay by mail with a money order.

I agree with that! I got items totaled 2000.00.

But their total came to over 4000.00. I wasn't told it was a lease similar or like rental center or aarons.

Why did I get a high credit limit with such a high interest rate.. Its absolutely ludicrous.

CREST FINANCIAL AND THE RETAILER DO NOT HONOR WARRANTY+EXTRA FEES CHARGED!

I AM A 3RD TIME CUSTOMER. YET THE 3RD WAS THE CHARM. I PURCHASE A SOFA & LOVE SEAT. BOTH DEFECTED. SEATING SQUEEKS WHEN SITTING DOWN PLUS YOU FEEL A POP IN A CUSHION WHEN YOU SIT DOWN, THE ARMS RESTS FEEL LIKE WOOD OR HARD CARDBOARD INSIDE. I PURCHASED THE WARRANTY WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE ITEMS BACK IN SEPT 2016 AND SINCE JANUARY 2017 I HAVE BEEN CALLING RETAILER, WARRANTY COMPANY AND CREST FINANCIAL THAT THEY ARE QUICK TO COLLECT AND WITHDRAW FUNDS/PAYMENT OUT OF MY ACCOUNT. WELL THE LAST DRAW AND PHONE CALL ABOUT MY WARRANTY BEING HONORED WAS THE LAST. I CANCELLED ALL FUTURE PAYMENTS FROM BEING WITHDRAWN AND NOW I HAVE CONSTANT CALLS FOR PAYMENT!! I LET CREST FIN. KNOW I WILL NOT PAY ANOTHER RED CENT TO PAYMENTS TILL THEY HONOR MY WARRANTY. AS I INSTRUCTED THEM FOR THE PAST 7 1/2 MONTHS TO HAVE A SUPERVISOR CONTACT ME REGARDING MY MERCHANDISE TO BE FIXED! UNTILL THEN THEY WILL NOT GET ANYMORE MONEY FROM ME. THEY HAVE MADE THREATS WITH MY CREDIT REPORT THEY HAVE ARGUED WITH ME AND BEEN SO UNPROFFESSIONAL. IM DONE WITH CREST AND THEY RETAILER. I HAVE BASHED THEM AND GIVEN BAD REVIEWS AS WELL. THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME FEES THAT I WILL NOT PAY. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! IM SO GLAD IVE DONE A CREDIT REPORTING AGENCY TO CLEAN MY CREDIT. NOW I DONT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THESE TYPE OF CREDITORS THAT THINK THEY ARE HELPING THOSE WHO CANT GET ITEMS FROM A GOOD RETAIL STORE.

Annoying. Ridiculous.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We bought a couch. Half credit, half cash. We paid monthly, and they took out of my paycheck, but they would send me emails about how my payment was late even though they took the payment out on the arranged time. Now they're taking out money every week, and it's leaving us with little to no money. We now owe more than the couch itself and honestly I'd be fine if they just took it. They call constantly for their money but when you call asking them to change a card/payment plan

Good experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
It is simple Crest leased me $2k. There interest policy as a money generating company is on point with what they are suppose to do MAKE MONEY. They offered me low payments where it added up to $1900 more than what the actual furniture cost. So i DID SIMPLE MATH and paid them $645 for 3 months. IF YOU CANT AFFORD SOMETHING THEN DONT BUY IT SIMPLE. Stop living beyond your means.

Not reporting to the credit bureau's as I was told they were!

I purchased a mattress set and chose Crest over the other payment options so I could use it to rebuild my credit . I have not had any issues with the product or payments HOWEVER...... it has been 11 month , I have 2 payments left and they have not reported to the credit bureau's yet!! I have contacted them several times in the past 6 months, fist I was told "we are reporting to Equifax, you need to contact them", I did so and they told me they had no reports from Crest. Then i was told the rep would contact the department responsible for reporting and have them send a physical report to Equifax so IF they do that it will be another 60-90 days until it reflects on my credit report. So I don't miss one payment in a year and now have to wait another 3 months to see IF it shows up on my credit report! Thanks ,No Thanks ! Wont be using them again...

Unbelievable

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I was told that I had until the 23 of June to pay off my least, which at this point was roughly 600.00. When I called on the 23rd. of June I was told I missed my payoff date at this time they said it was the 21st. Of June and I had to pay had to pay 1, 814.65. My original loan was for 1,100.00 . My payments was all on time. I was told that I would receive 1,031.99 but at this point I believe I'm going get some legal help. Starting with going to the local news paper to expose Crest Financial. I was robbed lied to and totally mislead. The one thing I can say, they must pay their employees good money because they are on one Accor with the way they treat their customers and that's like a child who doesn't know better. I just want my money back, the letter I received informed me it would take 2-7 days. When I called the office I was told 7-10 days...Unbelievable

TOTALLY RIPPED OFF

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I WAS BUYING FURNITURE FROM KISER FURNITURE AND IT WAS SOLD TO CREST FINANCIAL FOR FINANCING -- I MADE MORE THAN THE REQUIRED PAYMENT AMOUNT AND OWED ABOUT 60.00 WHEN THEY BILLED ME FOR THE FULL PAYMENT AMOUNT OF 230.00. I HAD TO PAY OVERDRAFT CHARGE OF 35 BECAUSE THEY TOOK OUT MORE THAN I OWED THEM. WHEN I CONTACTED CREST, I WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE 5 - 7 OR MORE DAYS FOR THEM TO POST IT TO MY ACCOUNT (IT WAS ALREADY TAKEN FROM MY CHECKING ACCOUNT OR I COULD SEND THEM MY CHECKING ACCOUNT STATEMENT SHOWING PAYMENT. I CALLED CREST FINANCIAL AND WAS TOLD THAT MY REFUND WOULD TAKE ANOTHER 5 - 10 BUSINESS DAYS -- I WAITED MORE 10 MINUTES TO TALK WITH A SUPERVISOR AND AGAIN WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE ANOTHER 5 - 10 DAYS FOR ME TO RECEIVE MY REFUND I HAVE COMPLAINED TO KISER FURNITURE ABOUT CREST AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A LAST FINANCIAL INSTITUTE THEY USE TO FINANCE THEIR FURNITURE I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSIVE THAT THIS WOULD IMPROVE MY CREDIT SCORE

We are on the phone with them right now.

We paid them a double payment and paid the account off.

They reversed the payment and said the account was not paid off.

We asked them why they reversed the payments and they said

because it was not a scheduled payment. They just happened to do

it so that it went over the 90 day period. Not to mention every time we talk to them they change their story and change the dates.

Guest

I just went through the same issue just now! They took out more money than they was suppose to than when I call they told me it will take a week. it has been 3 weeks and they told me it will be another week before i get a refund. Than I was also told that if I didnt contact them they would not have refunded my money back THIEVES

Guest

Why would you pay more than the amount due without paying off the account in its entirety ?

I'm unclear as to what you're complaining about and I wish you'd stop screaming with the all capital letters thing.

Over charging and making payments too high

I Wanted to change the date of my due date while i was purchasing the product they didnt tell me that it was going to cost me a lot for the months because i had to wait until the furniture was delivered in order for them to change my payments. If they were up front with me before the furniture was delivered i would have said take something off. This is my second time dealing with them my first time i didnt go through this. This is the last time dealing with them when i pay them off i can go somewhere else cheaper than them. they should be sued for what they are doing. Maybe later on somebody will have a law suit on them i will be able to get some of my money back.

Customer Service Horrible

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Called Crest Financial to change our bi-weekly payments to one monthly payment. That's when we encountered the worse customer service by Jason R. Jason R. said that we had to submit proof of income (by mail only) in order to change our dates. He said that it was a 'new policy update'. We told him that we were unaware of the this 'new policy update', as we were never informed of it and nowhere in our contract does it state that we need to submit proof that we only get paid monthly in order to change our payment date. Getting nowhere with Jason R. we asked to speak to his manager. When you ask to speak with a supervisor, one should be made available, instead all we got were taunts for this immature child. We ended the call, having had enough of his condescending responses. Sadly, by reading others reviews I have a feeling that Jason R. is the norm of those who work for Crest Financial. Once we fulfill our obligation with this company we will never do business with them again and highly advise others not to either. Don't waste your time or money with Crest Financial, you will regret it.
